14th May, 2026
The Meyego expresses its profound shock and unutterable sorrow following the brutal attack on 13th May, 2026, in Kangpokpi District, Manipur. This senseless act of violence claimed the lives of three devoted pillars of the Thadou Baptist Association India (TBAI): Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum, Rev. Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou & Pastor. Paogoulen Sitlhou. These men of God dedicated their earthly lives to spiritual guidance and the pursuit of communal peace. We also remember the several other believers and church workers who were injured in this incident, and we pray fervently for their recovery.
The Meyego denounces this atrocity in the strongest possible terms. The victims were defenseless religious leaders engaged in their sacred duties of worship and ministry. Their martyrdom has cast a shadow of immense grief across the entire Christian community.
There is no grievance, political or social, that can ever justify the shedding of innocent blood. To target religious leaders is to strike at the very heart of peace, unity, and mutual respect—the fundamental principles that hold a society together. Such heinous acts are an affront to humanity and a violation of the sanctity of life.
In this hour of darkness, the Meyego conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the grieving congregations of the TBAI. We stand in solidarity with you, offering our unwavering support and our prayers that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds during this time of mourning.
We earnestly implore all parties involved in the ongoing conflict to lay down their arms. We call for a rejection of the cycle of violence in favor of the path of reconciliation through our Lord Jesus Christ. In a time of brokenness, let us choose forgiveness over vengeance and healing over hatred.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." (Matthew 5:9)
In His Service,
Meyego+
