தகவல் தொடர்பு ஞாயிறு (Communications Sunday) கிறிஸ்தவ சபைகளில் பெந்தெகொஸ்தே பெருவிழாவிற்கு முந்தைய ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமையன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. 

பெந்தெகொஸ்தே ஞாயிறுக்கு முன் ஏன் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது?

பெந்தெகொஸ்தே என்பது திருத்தூதர்கள் மீது தூய ஆவி இறங்கிய நாளைக் குறிக்கிறது. தூய ஆவியின் கொடையால் அவர்கள் வெவ்வேறு மொழிகளில் பேசும் (Divine Communication) ஆற்றலைப் பெற்றனர்; இதனால் அங்கு கூடியிருந்த அனைவரும் நற்செய்தியைத் தங்கள் சொந்த மொழிகளில் புரிந்துகொள்ள முடிந்தது.

 

தகவல் தொடர்பு ஞாயிறை பெந்தெகொஸ்தே பெருவிழாவிற்குச் சற்று முன்பு கொண்டாடுவது, ஒரு முக்கியமான வழிபாட்டு நினைவூட்டலாகும். அதாவது, உண்மையான மற்றும் அர்த்தமுள்ள தகவல் தொடர்பு என்பது பிரிவினைகளைத் தகர்த்து, மக்களை ஒன்றிணைக்கிறது; இது இறுதியில் தூய ஆவியினால் வழிநடத்தப்படுகிறது என்பதை இது நமக்கு உணர்த்துகிறது.

இரண்டாம் வத்திக்கான் சங்கத்தின் (1962-1965) விளைவாக இந்நாள் நிறுவப்பட்டது. குறிப்பாக, 1963-ஆம் ஆண்டின் வத்திக்கான் சங்க ஆவணமான இன்டர் மிரிஃபிகா (Inter Mirifica - சமூகத் தகவல் தொடர்பு ஊடகங்கள் பற்றிய பேராணை) வழியாக இதற்கு அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டது.

 

திருத்தந்தை ஆறாம் பவுல் 1967 மே 7 அன்று முதல் உலக தகவல் தொடர்பு நாளை அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக நிறுவி கொண்டாடினார். திருச்சபை நவீன உலகோடு தீவிரமாக இணைய வேண்டும் என்பதை வத்திக்கான் உணர்ந்தது. 

அன்று, நவீன ஊடகங்களின் உதாரணங்கள் பத்திரிகை, சினிமா, வானொலி, தொலைக்காட்சி; இன்று இணையம், சமூக ஊடகங்கள் மற்றும் செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு - AI. இத்தகைய அபரிமிதமான ஆற்றலைக் கொண்டு, மனித மாண்பை மேம்படுத்தவும் நற்செய்தியைப் பரப்பவும் இந்த ஊடகங்களை எவ்வாறு பயன்படுத்தலாம் என்பதில் கவனம் செலுத்துவதற்காக இந்நாள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

Communications Sundaay is celebrated on the Sunday before Pentecost in Christian Community. 

Why the Sunday Before Pentecost?

Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, granting them the ability to speak in different tongues so that everyone could understand the Good News. Placing Communications Sunday just before Pentecost serves as a liturgical reminder that true, meaningful communication breaks down barriers, unites people, and is ultimately guided by the Holy Spirit.

Inauguration: The day was established in the wake of the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965). Specifically, it was called for in the 1963 Council document Inter Mirifica (the Decree on the Media of Social Communications). Pope Paul VI formally established and celebrated the first World Communications Day on May 7, 1967.  

The Purpose: The Vatican realized the Church needed to actively engage with the modern world. The day was designed to focus attention on the vast power of modern media (then press, cinema, radio, and television; now extending to the internet, social media, and AI) and how these tools can be shaped to promote human dignity and spread the Gospel.
