The Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion, is a sacrament that commemorates the Last Supper. There are different beliefs such as:
Reformed View by Calvin (Receptionism)
Reformed Christians believe that the bread and wine hold the spiritual presence of the body and blood of Jesus but do not become it. It is followed by Refomed Churches and Presbyterian Church.
Lutheran view (consubstantiation)
In Lutheranism, Christ's body and blood are present "in, with and under" the forms of bread and wine. There is a Sacramental Union of the bread and wine with the body and blood of Christ. It is followed by Lutheran Churches.
Zwingli View (Memorialism)
Baptists believe that the Holy Communion is a re-enactment or commemoration of the Last Supper. The bread and wine are seen as symbolic of Jesus’ death. It is followed by Baptist Churches and some Evangelical Churches.
Roman Catholic view (Transubstantiation)
Roman Catholics believe that the bread and the wine become the actual flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. It is followed by Roman Catholic Church and some Western Orthodox Churches.
