Backsliding is Sin • Biblical Thoughts

Backsliding happens when a believer slowly turns away from God, neglecting prayer, the Bible, obedience, and fellowship with Him. It is dangerous because it weakens our relationship with God and opens the door for sin to grow again in our lives.

God does not want His people to drift away—He calls us to repent, return, and remain faithful. The good news is that God is always ready to forgive and restore those who come back to Him with a humble heart 🙏

Backsliding may begin quietly, but if ignored, it can lead to spiritual dryness and distance from God. That is why we must guard our hearts daily and stay close to Him.

Jeremiah 3:22 

“Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings.”

Proverbs 14:14 

“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.”

WHAT IS BACKSLIDING?

- it is a season of increasing sin and decreasing obedience.

 

- Losing interest with God.

- Going Far from God.

- Going COLD!

- A Turning away from Christ.

we lose sight of Christ because of our sins and unbelief. 

Satan lies and we grow discouraged and weak! 

- The very opposite of Growth

- Having SINNED and NOT REPENTED of their deeds.

There is NO REWARD FROM GOD in Backsliding!
