Pain Behind the Love

An elderly nun was hurriedly walking on the street, out of breath! She was again and again leaning down and having picked up something from the road, she was putting it in her apron's pocket. Some people were noticing her in suspicion and a policeman also noticed her picking up something and keeping it in her pocket. The policeman hurriedly came to her and asked, "What have you just picked up and put in your pocket?" She was scared at his approach and having revealed her pocket she said, "Look, many of our home's barefooted children will be walking this way. I've found many broken and sharp pieces of glasses fallen on this road. Lest they step onto these broken glasses and get hurt, I'm trying to pick these up and keep the way safe for them." The policeman was ashamed of asking her so rudely and said, "Ma'am, today I'm so much touched by your love and care for your children that led you to do such a painstaking work!"

Lesson: "A genuine love and care for others may result in pain and self-sacrifice, as Christ always did, but this is the noblest way to live this life."
