Dying is Gain: Peter's Martyr

Most of the early Church Fathers agreed and confirmed that Peter, the senior disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ, died as a Martyr. Origen wrote, "Peter was crucified at Rome during the time of Nero according to his wish." Margherita Guarducci, a great researcher, who discovered the tomb of Peter concluded the research by commenting thus, "Peter was executed on the Cross on 13th October, 64 AD, during the festivities of Emperor Nero." The story continues that as the executioners were preparing to crucify Peter during the persecution of Nero, Peter told the executioners to crucify him not like Jesus. Peter said that he was not worthy enough to die exactly like Jesus. So he asked them to crucify him with his head downward and legs upward.

Lesson: To a follower of Jesus Christ, living is Christ and dying is gain.
