He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as part of his secular education. He pursued theological studies with a Bachelor of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Theology. Rev. Santhosh comes from a deeply rooted Christian family. His father, Late Sri. K. Simon Purushotham, was a retired Head Master and a Council Member of St. Peter's and St. Paul's Church, Kalsapadu, who also served as a construction advisor and worked with NGOs to support vulnerable populations. His mother, Late Smt. P. Paripurnamma, was a retired government teacher and Synod Member of the CSI Nandyal Diocese.
He is married to Mrs. D. Jasmine Beulah, a preacher, singer, and women's leader with a diploma in Fashion Designing and advanced training in Church Women Leadership. She pioneered sacramental bread making in the Diocese and has been instrumental in pre-marital counseling, prison ministry, outreach to the elderly, and mobilizing resources for church development. She raised over three lakhs for the construction of St. Andrews Church in Guntakal. They are blessed with two sons—Daniel Kamanuri, who holds a degree in Cardio Perfusion Technology from SRM University, and Noel Kamanuri, who is pursuing a BBA at St. Mary’s College, Hyderabad, and managed the family’s ministry social media presence during the pandemic.
Rev. Kamanuri Santhosh Prasanna Rao was ordained as a Deacon on 14th September 2002 and as a Presbyter on 27th September 2003 by the Rt. Rev. Dr. G.T. Abraham. Since then, he has served across multiple rural and urban pastorates. From 2002 to 2004, he served at Kalasapadu as the first Chairman after bifurcation, overseeing 11 congregations. He then served at Alampur from 2004 to 2005, chairing five congregations. In the same period, he also ministered at Kurnool Christ Church, where he led successful fundraising for church construction and initiated youth Christmas celebrations. From 2006 to 2009, he was posted at Nandyal Holy Cross Cathedral Pastorate II, renovating the parsonage, founding All Saints Church, and introducing cottage prayers. From 2009 to 2013, he served as Chairman of Holy Cross Cathedral Pastorate V, overseeing the construction of a parsonage and community hall, transforming the pastorate into a surplus entity, and founding a new church in YSR Nagar. From 2013 to 2018, he ministered at Guntakal St. Andrews Church, leading the construction of three major churches, St. Andrews, Christ Church, and St. Thomas Church. He also renovated the mother church and initiated outreach to Thanda villages. During the pandemic, he led online ministry, conducted funerals for COVID-19 victims, and organized food distribution for daily wage laborers. From 2018 to 2021, he served at Proddatur Christ Church, continuing his digital ministry and community support. In 2021, he was briefly posted at Badvel for two months to lead reconciliation and festival celebrations. From 2021 to 2023, he served at Chagalmarri as Pastorate Chairman, renovating a parsonage, constructing a Sunday school shed and bell tower, and initiating fasting prayers. Since 2023, he has been serving as Denary Chairman at Muddanur, leading ten congregations. His work there includes installing liturgical items, resolving disputed land issues, constructing infrastructure, and establishing women's fellowships and village fasting prayers.
His administrative contributions are equally significant. He served as a Ministerial Committee Member from 2003 to 2005 and was appointed Bishop’s Chaplain for six years (2005–2012) by Rt. Rev. P.J. Lawrence. He was also appointed Korean Team Coordinator during this period, facilitating visits of Korean partners to diocesan projects and congregations. He represented the Diocese in Synod Sessions and served as the Diocese Seva Convener in 2014–2015 under Bishop Pushpalalitha. He was a member of the Property Committee (2015–2018), Finance Committee (2018–2021), and continues to serve on the Education Committee since 2021, contributing to the development and governance of church institutions.
Rev. Kamanuri Santhosh Prasanna Rao’s overseas exposure has enriched his vision for global partnerships and mission. In 2006, he joined a Synod-organized trip to the Holy Land, visiting Biblical sites in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. In 2010, he visited the Oxford Diocese in England at Bishop Alan’s invitation to initiate a diocesan partnership. He traveled to South Korea in 2011 to establish connections with the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PROK) and returned in 2012 to lead a diocesan children’s exchange delegation. He also represented India at a Global Summit in Bangkok in 2012 and later visited Singapore for ministry exploration.
Among his notable achievements is the successful acquisition of a half-acre government-allotted land in Nandyal in 2011–2012, where he led the creation of a Hope Community Center that includes a church, parsonage, and skill training facility in partnership with PROK. In 2012, he oversaw the construction of a parsonage and community hall that became a vibrant spiritual and social space. He initiated the installation of a sacramental bread-making machine sourced from Kerala at the diocesan empowerment center. In Guntakal, he constructed three churches within four years and mobilized various groups, including children and senior citizens, for community fundraising. He also established the City Pastors Fellowship, successfully securing minority welfare funds for cemetery development. His compassion-led ministry has included counseling and rehabilitating mentally ill individuals, drug addicts, and beggars. In Proddatur, he registered land for the parsonage under the Diocese, ensuring long-term infrastructure stability.
He has participated in APCC meetings in Hyderabad and Bible Society conferences in both Hyderabad and Guntur. He also visited Singapore and Thailand as part of his broader ministerial exposure. In the area of publications and media engagement, Rev. Kamanuri Santhosh Prasanna Rao wrote a theme song for the Synod’s Girl Child Program and continues to share sermons and gospel reflections through YouTube and other platforms, ensuring his ministry reaches beyond geographic boundaries.
