Compassionate Heart & Helping Mind

Queen Elizabeth of Hungary was a very kind hearted lady and always gave alms to the poor and encouraged all of her citizens to try the same. Some citizens came and said to her, "If we do not have money how can we give alms to the poor?" She replied, "If we do not have money, we can always have these precious things: 

Two eyes to look at them,

Two ears to listen to them,

Two lips to smile at them,

One tongue to encourage them,

One heart to have compassion for them to discover God's grace and mercy."

Many of the citizens changed their outlook and began to help the people in need in different ways.

Lesson: "It's not necessary to be rich to be helpful to people in need."
